Madeira

Besides being an autonomous region of Portugal, Madeira is also the name of an entire archipelago. This beautiful archipelago is located about 850 KM from Portugal's mainland in the Atlantic Ocean about 700 KM off the coast of Africa. The archipelago that forms Madeira consists of several (small) islands. Of these, only two are inhabited: Madeira and the smaller island of Porto Santo. The other islands, such as Ilhas Desertas, are not inhabited and are protected natural areas.

Madeira, a small island that is more than big enough for an ultimate trip.

In addition to a pleasant climate throughout the year, the flower island has everything you need to make your next trip a truly unique experience. Endless views in the mountains and along the coastline plus beautiful hiking trails. What's more to want for your next trip? Fancy a vacation to Madeira? Enjoy culinary Madeira!

Of course, a visit to Madeira is not complete without having discovered the local cuisine. Madeira's cuisine is characterized by the use of mostly local products. Fish is the most common dish you will see on the menu of almost every restaurant. But, fortunately, there is more than just fish!
